CCR Outline

For this years CCR I have decided that I am going to do a video for my CCR with a voice over to explain everything. I feel this is the best choice because it will allow me to add pictures, videos, and of course the voice over. I am still creating my script, but here is an outline of how the CCR will go...

This is just a very rough draft of what I want to make sure is included, but there will definitely be more things I will add.

The Stress of Editing

Where did time go? I can't believe there is less than a week left until we have to submit everything! Isa and I are currently in the process of editing and we have encountered some stressful situations. First of all the lighting is so inconsistent it's driving us crazy. The day of the music video we used the stage light for the lighting effect we wanted, we kept them the same throughout the shoot, but the videos show otherwise. At some parts of the video the lighting is blue, which is what we want, but then in another part of the same video it changes to yellow. This is something we definitely did not plan for so we are trying to change the saturation to make them all look similar. 

Also, I think Isa and I underestimated how hard it was going to be to match the words and the mouthing. During the shoot we had the song playing, however, some parts Em is signing faster than the track. Because of the timing and getting everything coordinated it has been hard to make the cuts flow. Since we need the mouthing to go with the words we can't just cut the part we don't like because then the words don't match up. We are currently trying to figure out a solution, most likely we will have to place dance inserts, but we will see.

It's not all bad though... we have the finished cover for the digipack! We are almost done putting it together since we were just waiting on that. As for the website we have everything, but we just have to finish putting everything together. Isa is going to edit some of the pictures while I create some merchandise and then we should be about done with the website.

Although it is a stressful time right now I am really excited with the way things are turning out. I can't wait for you all to see it!

Smile for the Picture

You might be wondering why I am posting another vlog, right? Well, to be honest I love vlogging and being able to show you guys whats its really like filming and doing a photo shoot.  I think it is so interesting to see the surrounding of a set, most of the time we are so intrigued by a picture that we don't stop and wonder what went into getting that picture and how the set looked. It is not something we usually think about because it really isn't necessary if you your final product turn out right. However, I am fascinated by the idea that a painted wall by  baseball field can become the backdrop to an amazing picture. I want to share our experience while shooting Em and show you around the set...enjoy!

Music Video Vlog

As promised here is a vlog that Isa and I did to document our process of shooting the music video. We just wanted to show you all a behind-the-scenes look of the set and give you an idea of what it is going to look like. Without further due here is our vlog!

Digipak Cover

Last time I talked about the digipak and the layout information I forgot to mention that Em's friends Michelle is designing her cover. She has been working on it for a while and she just started adding color to it! We are hopping it gets finished by Friday so we can put the whole digipak together. Michelle has spend countless hours working on the cover and getting it exactly how Em wants it. I am so grateful for all the people that have helped us with this project by contributing their skills and talents to help Em and us.

Here are progress pictures of the cover, but you will have to wait to see the final product soon.

Also my friend Ines is doing a magazine for her A level Media Studies project and she is doing her two page spread on Em! This is great exposure for Em and is a great opportunity for others to get to know her.  I can't wait to see how it turns out.

Dancer's Choreography

Here is what Isa and I came up with for the choreography and blocking for Em's music video. It is probably a little hard to understand what we mean in some parts, but you will get to see the finished result soon.

Cage Music Video

Voices surround me, it's harder to breathe - Em looking straight out; CLOSE UP PAN

there is no escape, my head is killing me - Em hands to face with tortured look; CLOSE UP

i stand in my cage in silence and fear - Em staring straight into camera; CLOSE UP STILL

for the demons of darkness have driven me here - Em staring into camera; SLOW ZOOM OUT

Sticks and stones- Em; QUICK ZOOM IN

May break my bones but words will tear me apart most of the monsters in my head only scare me in the dark - Em making faces; QUICK VARIOUS SHOTS(CLOSE UPS, PROFILES, EXTREME CLOSE UPS, DANCER QUICK SHOTS ETC)

I'm trapped inside a cage- Dancer wall wall stomach down face slowly up

I'm like- Half extended leg and half turn

a deadly machine- Turn back with tilted leg/split

My heart is locked- Kick tilted leg twice

in chains- Squat with feet outward and then heels up

My mind is a disease- Torso spin in squat with heels up

Can you Can you save my soul?- Slowly go onto back until shoulders touch floor

Can you Can you save my soul?- Rise slowly from the floor until standing straight in tippy toes and hands touching throat

People are watching, they think that i'm insane- Dancer turn dramatically away from camera and walk in circle; Em appears in middle of circle slowly

I see them, they're talking- Dancer in front of Am going down a little

do they know i'm not okay?- Dancer swishes torso to side and smirks

(Beat)  Turn to floor and drag behind Em

Shadows are screaming that I am alone- Dancer slowly comes up behind Em; focus moves to Em

I hope it's all a dream, i'm out here on my own- Dancer walks back and disappears

My heart is locked in chains- Dancer grabs Em's arms without touching her and tugs her from angled side to side

My mind is a disease- Dancer throws Em down
